Australian international defender Charli Grant has joined Tottenham Hotspur from Swedish top-flight side Vittsjö.

The 22-year-old full-back has over 20 caps for her country, played at the 2020 Olympics and scored her first international goal in a 2-0 win over England last April.

She played in the A-League for Adelaide United before joining Swedish top-flight side Rosengård, from whom she joined Vittsjö GIK.

The 22-year-old full-back has joined us following the expiration of her contract with Vittsjö GIK, and her deal with us runs until 2026.

Grant told SPURSPLAY: “It feels very surreal. It’s definitely a dream come true and I’m excited to get started. What we are building here at the club is very special and something I wanted to be a part of.

“Robert [Vilahamn] definitely got me over the line, he gave me a good gut feeling and coached against me in Sweden and his team were always very competitive and the style of play is something I want to be a part of, so I’m really grateful to be here.

“His team was always a top team, always a hard team to beat, high-pressing and always very technical, so now to be playing under him it is definitely better to be on that side than against him.”
