FA Women’s National League back from festive break

The FA Women’s National League takes centre stage this Sunday, resuming after the Christmas break ahead of the Barclays WSL and Championship.

It is fourth versus second in the Northern Premier as Wolves welcome Burnley, leaders Newcastle United have home advantage over Halifax, third-placed Nottingham Forest take on West Brom.

Fifth faces first in the Southern Premier with MK Dons entertaining Hashtag United, second-in-the-table Portsmouth play away at Billericay Town. Ipswich Town versus Oxford United is a clash of the fourth and sixth-placed sides, Rugby Borough are third ahead of their journey to Cheltenham Town. Cardiff City Ladies have a change of manager going into their game with London Bees, Fern Burrage-Male replacing Gemma Donnelly.

Boldmere St Michaels (third) host Peterborough United (second) in Division 1 Midlands, while leaders Loughborough Lightning have a visit from mid-table Solihull Moors.

There is also a meeting of third and second in Division 1 North, as Middlesbrough host Hull City, top-of-the-table Barnsley WFC are home to Chester le Street Town.

Queens Park Rangers v AFC Wimbledon lead Division 1 South East on goal-difference from Norwich City and have a capital clash away to QPR, while the Canaries are also in town at London Seaward.

Division 1 South West’s top two are similarly separated and looking to make it ten straight wins each; AFC Bournemouth at Bridgwater United and Exeter City on the road at Swindon Town.
