Spain win through to last four of UEFA Women’s U-19 Euros

UEFA Women's U-19 championship draw made

Spain are the first side through to the UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship semi-finals but England were beaten by Sweden.

Group A: Italy 2-2 France, Czech Republic 0-5 Spain

Group B: Norway 2-1 Germany, Sweden 1-0 England

Spain made it two wins from two games, when putting five goals past tournament hosts Czech Republic. Ane Alexpuru and Fiamma Iannuzi struck in the first half, Clara Pinedo and a Lucia Moral brace then easing them through.

The second of two Nicole Arcangeli penalties saw Italy level late on for a 2-2 draw with France. Judith Coquet and Louna Ribadeira had earlier turned the game round with two goals in a five-minute spell.

England went down 1-0 to Sweden, unable to come back from going a goal down on seven minutes to an Elma Nelhage effort. Grace Clinton came closest for the young Lionesses but was denied by the crossbar.

Germany suffered a second defeat when letting slip an early advantage against Norway. Sarah Mattner-Trembleau’s opener was cancelled out by Iris Omarsdottir, who went on to net the decider in the last ten minutes.
