Sheffield United Women have added former FAWSL winger Olivia Fergusson to their squad ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

The 24-year-old has spent the past two seasons in the top-tier with Bristol City and Yeovil Town respectively.

The pacey forward can play out wide or through the middle and scored the quickest goal in last season’s WSL when she put her Yeovil side ahead away at Manchester City.

Fergusson, also previously of Aston Villa, has represented England throughout the youth teams, most recently playing for Marieanne Spacey’s Under 23s last year.

Ahead of beginning pre-season at the club, Fergusson is looking forward to meeting up with her new teammates.

“When I sat down with Carla [Ward] I was so impressed by the professionalism, facilities and people at the club. The ethos of Sheffield United really matches my ambition and I can see myself making strides here. I am now beyond excited to meet up with the team and get started.”

Manager Carla Ward also had only good things to say after securing her fourth signing of the summer as the Blades look to build on last season’s top five finish.

“Olivia is an exciting player. She brings a lot of quality and pace in that final third where we struggled last season so I’m delighted she’s decided to put pen to paper.”
