Sheffield United have signed talented young midfielder Monique Robinson from Barclays Women’s Super League side Leicester City.
Robinson progressed through the Foxes academy after initially being in the Blades youth setup at 16 and enjoyed success with the WSL outfit, including scoring a goal in the team’s first top division win, a strike which earned a nomination of the league’s Goal of the Month competition.
The 19-year-old made her senior debut in 2022 in a Continental League Cup tie against Manchester City and was part of a successful academy side which won the WSL Academy League Plate the same year.
Robinson was also capped by England’s U-19s last year and having gained vital first team experience in loans to both Loughborough Lightning and Burnley, the teenager is ready for the step into permanent senior football with the Blades ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Robinson said: “I’m really excited. I was here in the academy and I’m excited to be back. Getting the experience in tier three has really helped me with senior football and I’m ready to take that next step.”
