Foster brace rescues point for Newcastle

Newcastle United and Chester le Street Town remain on similar points totals having shared six goals, as the Magpies rise to sixth in Northern Division 1 and Town go eighth.

Jess Foster gave United a 7th minute lead after the keeper dropped a Rebecca Olley cross.

Steph Order saw her free-kick well saved before the visitors equalised on 18 minutes through Kate Ellison.

Town then scored twice in a seven-minute spell, Rachel Mellor netting from 25 yards before a corner was headed in at the far post by Brogan Prudhoe.

Six minutes after the interval and the hosts were back in it, Siobhan Jones striking from distance.

Rhiannon Gray and Nicole Dack were both denied by the visitors’ keeper but Foster found a leveller with just 2 minutes to go.
