Scottish Women’s Premier League: Celtic held by Motherwell

Motherwell dented Celtic’s Scottish Women’s Premier League title hopes while Montrose went top of the SWPL2 table.

Celtic 0-0 Motherwell
Hamilton Academical 4-0 Glasgow Women

Celtic had to settle for a draw at home to mid-table Motherwell, leaving them five points behind leaders Glasgow City. It was the first time in three years that Motherwell took points off the title chasers.

Hamilton moved up two places to ninth, sending Glasgow Women to a 14th straight defeat. Kirstie McIntosh, Josephine Giard, Morgan Hay and Lauren Evans got a goal each.

Montrose 7-1 St.Johnstone

Montrose came from behind to beat St.Johnstone – who had a player red-carded late on – with two goals each for Charlotte Gammie and Aimee Ridgeway. The win put them top on goal-difference, although Gartcairn have a game in hand.
