Scottish Women’s Football have announced that the upcoming SWPL Cup Final will be broadcast live via BBC Alba.
SWF say it means the continued trend of more exposure for the game in Scotland after last’s years final was also broadcast on the channel.
Lorna Cameron, Interim Executive Officer of Scottish Women’s Football, told scotwomensfootball.com, “We’re delighted to be working with BBC Alba again and to have the SWPL Cup Final broadcast live. The game is growing and with that, we’re seeing more interest from organisations to be involved.
“We see it as our responsibility to help grow the game as much as we can. Increased visibility is a large part of that. We feel we’re on the right track, both in terms of increasing attendances at games and the number of broadcasts throughout the season.”
The cup final between Hibernian and Celtic will be played at The Falkirk Stadium on Sunday 20th of May with an altered kick-off time of 4.10pm. The two sides met in the 2017 final, with Hibs lifting the trophy with a 4-1 win.
