Republic of Ireland were 4-0 winners away to Hungary and also in UEFA Women’s Nations League Group B1, Northern Ireland edged Albania.
Lauren Wade marked her 50th cap for Northern Ireland by getting the only goal of the game, which also saw Sarah McFadden clock up her 100th appearance.
McFadden was denied a penalty and Wade hit the post, before Viona Rexhepi made a point blank save from Simone Magill.
Northern Ireland took the lead in the 57th minute, Megan Bell crossed to the back post where Diane Caldwell’s powerful header was parried by Rexhepi, but Caldwell played the rebound to Wade to tuck home.
A McFadden header was kept out by Rexhepi’s full-length dive, the keeper also turning over Marissa Callaghan powerful header.
The Republic made it two wins from two, with two goals in either half.
Caitlin Hayes headed home a cross from Katie McCabe, who then doubled the lead with a rocket of a shot.
A header from Kyra Carusa made it 3-0, before Denise O’Sullivan completed the scoring.
