Republic of Ireland have won all six of their UEFA Women’s Nations League Group B1 games, with Northern Ireland missing out on a promotion play-off place.

The game at Windsor Park was goalless until Lucy Quinn’s 37th-minute breakthrough, Heather Payne soon adding the second and Kyra Carusa scoring seconds after the restart.

Katie McCabe rifled in the fourth, Louise Quinn and Caitlin Hayes also getting on the scoresheet for the visitors, Kerry Beattie replying in-between.

While Republic of Ireland can now look forward to playing in League A next season, Hungary’s 6-0 defeat of Albania means that Northern Ireland must defend their League B status in a relegation play-off against a League C team in February.
