Germany and Netherlands into UEFA Women’s Nations League finals

Germany and Netherlands have joined France and Spain in qualifying for the inaugural UEFA Women’s Nations League finals.

The draw for February’s finals and promotion/relegation play-offs will be made on Monday 11 December, 12pm UK time.

Group A1: Netherlands 4-0 Belgium, Scotland 0-6 England

Netherlands reached the semi-finals as group winners, pole position switching between the Dutch and England more than once even in stoppage time. Lineth Beerensteyn bagged a brace on her 100th cap and Damaris Egurrola struck two stoppage-time goals to see the Dutch dramatically finish top.

Group A2: Austria 2-1 Norway, Portugal 0-1 France

France ended top by six points, Grace Geyoro with the only goal in Portugal, who are relegated. Austria defeated Norway to finish ahead of them in second spot, Eileen Campbell and Katharina Schiechtl scoring  before Marit Lund missed a late penalty for the Norwegians.

Group A3: Denmark 0-1 Iceland, Wales 0-0 Germany

Although Germany were denied victory by Wales, they still topped the table with Denmark going down at home to Iceland, Karólína Vilhjálmsdóttir scoring 13 minutes from time.

Group A4: Spain 5-3 Sweden, Italy 3-0 Switzerland

Spain finished five points clear with victory over Sweden, who surrendered second position to Italy. Sweden had gone 3-1 up before Spain fought back, Mariona Caldentey scoring either side of a goal from teenage substitute Fiamma Benítez in the amazing turnaround. Manuela Giugliano, Cecilia Salvai and Arianna Caruso netted as Italy held their League A status.

Group B1: Hungary 6-0 Albania, Northern Ireland 1-6 Republic of Ireland

Republic of Ireland completed a 100% record in the group, Hungary go into the promotion play-offs while Northern Ireland must now defend their status against a League C side.

Group B2: Romania 0-1 Croatia, Slovakia 2-2 Finland

Slovakia became the first nation to deny Finland victory in a 2-2 tie but Croatia pipped them to second place.

Group B3: Poland 2-0 Greece, Serbia 0-1 Ukraine

Poland secured first place with victory over Greece, Serbia missing out following defeat by Ukraine.

Group B4: Czech Republic 4-0 Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0 Belarus

Czech Republic won the group after beating Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina beating Belarus to finish clear in second.

Group C1: Malta 2-1 Latvia, Andorra 0-0 Moldova

Malta won the group decider with Latvia, Andorra drew with Moldova to avoid last place at their expense.

Group C2: Türkiye 2-0 Georgia, Luxembourg 1-1 Lithuania

Türkiye topped the table by a massive 13 points and no goals conceded, Lithuania narrowly ahead of Luxembourg and then Georgia.

Group C3: Azerbaijan 1-0 Faroe Islands, Montenegro 2-0 Cyprus

Azerbaijan edged Faroe Islands to stay unbeaten, Montenegro beat Cyprus to seal the runners-up spot.

Group C4: Israel 4-1 Estonia, Kazakhstan 4-1 Armenia

Israel took top spot when winning the decider 4-1 over Estonia, Sharon Beck hitting her second hat-trick of the competition.

Group C5: Bulgaria 2-2 North Macedonia

North Macedonia got off the mark in Bulgaria, the group was earlier won by Kosovo.

Republic of Ireland Women win 6-1 in Northern Ireland
