Portugal international goalkeeper Inês Pereira has joined Everton but will go out on a season-long loan to Spanish club Deportivo de La Coruña.
She has around 40 caps for her country whom she represented at EURO 2022 and the 2023 World Cup.
Helping Servette to back-to-back Swiss Women’s Super League titles, she also won two Portuguese league trophies from her earlier spell at Sporting Lisbon.
For the forthcoming campaign, Pereira will play on loan at Deportivo de La Coruña, who are newly promoted to the Spanish Primera Division.
Manager Brian Sorensen told evertonfc.com: “Ines is a player I’ve been tracking for a while, from around the age of 18.
“We have two excellent goalkeepers with us now and Ines is one we see making an impact to our squad in the future.
“Ines is a talented goalkeeper, excellent with her feet, and plays with a lot of courage.
“She is a good character on the pitch and demands a lot from her teammates. Speaking to her I can tell she’s a quality human being and I’m excited to see how she gets on in her loan spell in Spain before playing for us in the future.”
