Northern Ireland Women win opening match in Marbella

Northern Ireland defeated Faroe Islands 3-1 in their opening match at the Marbella Football Centre in Spain.

Sam Kelly gave the Irish a perfect start with a goal from close range after only six minutes.

Two goals followed in the five minutes before the break, with Sarah Robson and Chloe McCarron the scorers.

Faroe Islands pull one back due to a mix up at the back, as Lauren Wade conceded an own-goal.

Kenny Shiels’ squad next play Switzerland at the Marbella Football Centre on Sunday at 11am, then Romania at the same venue on Wednesday 23 February at 11am.
