Mulbarton Belles and Shanklin win Women’s County League titles

Mulbarton Wanderers Belles and Shanklin have been celebrating becoming champions of the Norfolk and Hampshire Women’s Leagues respectively.

Mulbarton Belles won the Norfolk League Division 1 title following Sunday’s 4-0 result away to Thetford Town.

Alanta Griffith, Laura Hedtke, Sophie Jermy and Rebekah Lake were all on target, as the Belles moved out of range of Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers.

They further celebrated with an 8-1 midweek win over Bungay Town, their nineteenth straight victory taking their goal tally up to 100.

Mulbarton can complete a perfect season when they visit North Walsham Town on Sunday 24 April.

Shanklin clinched the Hampshire League Division 1 championship, winning 2-1 away to their last challengers for the top spot, Bournemouth Sports Reserves.

Gemma Woodford got both goals in the 2-1 victory for the side from the Isle of Wight, who won the league with four games to spare.
