How they finished in 2022/23: Women’s County Leagues (1/3)

The first of our three runs through the title-winners in the 2022/23 Women’s County Leagues takes us from Beds & Herts to Durham.

Beds & Herts – Wormley Rovers won the Premier by four points from both Hertford Town and Harpenden Town, with all three promoted to the Eastern League. Stotfold won Division 1 ten points ahead of St Margaretsbury, Garston Reserves topped Division 2 with Flitwick Eagles Blues and Stotfold each 13 points behind.

Birmingham – Alvechurch and Coventrians dominated the Premier, won on goal-difference by the former, as both step up to the West Midlands League. Sutton Coldfield Town Development won all 22 games in Division 1, to take the title ahead of Solihull Moors Foundation.

Alan Boswell Group Cambridgeshire – Division 1 champions Cardea go up to the East Midlands League but second-placed Histon will be competing in the Eastern League next term. Peterborough Sports pipped unbeaten Park Ladies to the Division 2 top spot, Chatteris Town finished six points clear of both Glinton & Northborough and Cambourne Town in Division 3.

Cheshire – Ellesmere Port Town topped the Premier with an unbeaten record and progress to the North West League, Macclesfield FC were runners up. Division 1 ended with Egerton winners, three points in front of Congleton Town.

Earthbound Electrical Cornwall – Helston Athletic advance to the South West League as Division 1 champions, in front of RNAS Culdrose. St Agnes beat Wadebridge Town to the Division 2 title.

Derbyshire – Wirksworth Colts won Division 1 from Borrowash Victoria, Division 2 was topped by Ashbourne with Buxton Young Bucks second.

Devon – North/East table-toppers were Bradworthy ahead of Crediton United, the South/West title went to Plympton with second-placed Juventus Devon accepted for promotion to the South West League.

Dorset – Shaftesbury Town edged Ridgeway to first place by one point but they will meet again next season in the South West League.

Durham – Sunderland U-23 were unbeaten in taking the League One title and go up to the North East League along with Consett who were second. South Moor won League Two, Durham United were runners up.
