Liverpool Women let five players go

Liverpool FC Women have confirmed five players will leave when their contracts run out at the end of June.

Originally at the club’s academy, Amy Rodgers leaves the after 50 appearances, Jess Clarke joined in 2017 and played 68 times, Kirsty Linnett had 52 outings in three seasons, Becky Jane 36 in two years and Amalie Thestrup 21 after signing up for the current campaign.

A spokesperson for LFC Women thanked all the players for their contributions during their time with the Reds, telling liverpoolfc.com: “These are always difficult decisions and we would like to thank all our departing players for their efforts.

“We will continue to follow their progress and wish them every success in their future careers.”

Goalkeeping coach Jen Herst also leaves, taking up a new opportunity with the Football Association of Wales.
