England defender Abbie McManus has signed for Leicester City Women after leaving Manchester United.

McManus lifted the WSL title with Manchester City, won the FA Cup and Conti Cup twice, as well as playing in a Champions League semi-final.

In May 2019, McManus signed for Manchester United, before later heading out on loan to Tottenham Hotspur for the remainder of last season.

She has represented England 17 times and competed at the 2019 World Cup.

Speaking to LCFC TV, she said: “I’m excited to meet the staff, players and obviously ready to get started.

“Walking in, you can tell that the facilities are unreal and it’s exciting to be a part of something that is just for the women, so it’s incredible.”
