Italy hold Spain ahead of UEFA Women’s EURO 2022

Warm-up matches for UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 were completed with wins for France and Netherlands and a draw between Italy and Spain.

Italy had led Spain through Valentina Bergamaschi’s goal soon after the restart but Alexia Putellas levelled on 67 minutes for a 1-1 draw.

Vivianne Miedema scored midway through each half as Netherlands defeated Finland 2-0 in Enschede.

France hit six first-half goals in a 7-0 scoreline against Vietnam. Kadidiatou Diani got a double, Delphie Cascarino, Sandie Toletti, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Clara Mateo were the other scorers before the break, Aissatou Tounkara then completing the scoring on 68 minutes.

Signe Bruun scored in the first minute for Denmark but Norway ended up 2-1 winners, thanks to a twelve-minute brace straddling the interval from Guro Reiten.

Elsewhere, South Tyrol beat Ladins 11-0 in the Europeada semi-final but then lost 4-2 on penalties in a goalless final against hosts Carinthian Slovenes.
