Ipswich Town close in on FA Women’s National League leaders

Ipswich Town stepped-up their FA Women’s National League title-chase, Hull won in front of nearly 900 at York City.

Southern Premier Division

Ipswich Town 1-0 Billericay Town (Att: 291)

Ipswich beat Billericay with a first-half penalty, won by Eloise King and converted by Freya Godfrey. The result put them third and within two points of leaders Portsmouth, with a game in hand.

Division One North

York City 1-3 Hull City (Att: 876)

York City took a second-half lead through Felicity Jones in front of a bumper home crowd, but Hull hit back with three goals in the last third of the game. Hope Knight levelled, Rachael Ackroyd netted from outside the box after 78 minutes and Knight got her second in added time.

Division One South West

Southampton Women 4-1 Selsey (Att: 120)

Southampton Women made it four consecutive league wins when defeating Selsey. Shannon Sievwright put away an early spot-kick, Hope Suominen and debutant Becky Barron adding one each before the interval. Selsey pulled one back through Skye Bacon but Katie Kingshott quickly restored the three-goal cushion.
