High fives for Chorley, Leeds United Women and Swindon, dozen for Moneyfields

Chorley, Leeds United and Swindon Town all scored five goals on Thursday in the FA Women’s National League, while Moneyfields hit a dozen.

DIVISION 1 NORTH

FC United of Manchester 1-5 Chorley (Att: 197)
Leeds United 5-1 York City

York City remain in the drop zone by one point after losing out 5-1 at Leeds United, whose Jessica Rousseau scored from wide left after just 20 seconds. Charlyann Pizzarello netted a free kick, with Rousseau completing her hat-trick with a goal either side of the interval. Alice Hughes got United’s fourth with a 20-yard strike into the roof of the net, Jess Holder found the net from further out for City’s consolation goal.

Chorley won by the same score at FC United to go eighth, while their visitors are at least five points from safety with as many games left. Millie Fitzpatrick’s opener was cancelled out by Mia Hayes but Safron Newhouse restored the visitors’ advantage before the break. Charlotte Tyers add their third, Fitzpatrick netted her second of the night and Megan Searson completed the scoring.

DIVISION 1 SOUTH WEST 

Selsey 0-12 Moneyfields (Att: 50)
Swindon Town 5-0 Keynsham Town (Att: 86)

Moneyfields went fourth with a dozen goals at Selsey, who are now on the verge of relegation following a 17th successive defeat. Kau’inhoea Taylor hit a hat-trick, while Kim Fuller added five assists to her penalty.

Meg Jarvis put Swindon Town ahead against Keynsham Town, with Ellie Strippel and Annie Colston bagging a brace each.
