Sheffield United Women have signed goalkeeper Nina Wilson from London City Lionesses on a one-year deal.
The 22-year-old adds competition to the Blades squad alongside current goalkeeper Fran Kitching and already has plenty of experience in the FA Women’s Championship.
Wilson was part of the Brighton & Hove Albion squad as a youngster which finished as runners-up in 2018, before going on to join Lewes and eventually Watford where she played regularly during the 2019/20 campaign.
The goalkeeper then spent some time playing professionally in Iceland before returning to England to play for the Lionesses in January of this year.
Wilson is looking forward to a new challenge: “I honestly couldn’t be any happier, I think it’s definitely the proudest moment of my career so far. The quality we have in the squad, it’s such an unreal opportunity for me to learn from all of them and I can’t wait to get going.”
Head Coach Neil Redfearn added: “I’ve been very impressed with Nina. She’s got good experience at this level and she’s a more than capable goalkeeper and good competition for Fran. That’s what we wanted, we want to give everyone competition.”
