Birmingham City Women’s goalkeeper Hannah Hampton has announced that she will leave the club when her contract runs out at the end of this month.

Hampton spent five years with the Blues, beginning at their Centre of Excellence and playing the majority of their WSL matches in season 2018/19, following the departure of Ann-Katrin Berger.

Progressing through all the England age-groups, the 20-year-old made the senior squad for the first time this year and was training with Team GB just last week.

“I have made the decision to leave to continue my development and career elsewhere,” she posted on Twitter.

“I’d like to take the opportunity to the club and all the staff involved, for having the belief in me since the age of sixteen when not many others did.”
