Fulham, Royston and Wythenshawe lead Women’s Regional Leagues

Fulham, Royston Town and Wythenshawe are all Regional League Premier Division leaders on goal-difference after three straight wins.

EASTERN – Ten-goal Royston Town lead the league

Premier – Royston, Haringey and St Albans all made it two wins from two, Wroxham were on their way also with a 4-0 lead at Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers but the game was abandoned on 69 minutes when the hosts’ Rachel Bussey suffered a serious back injury. Neve Mayes scored four of Royston’s ten at Cambridge City, Haringey Borough won 4-2 in front of 130 at Enfield Town, the Saints saw off Watford Ladies with an Alicia Povey goal. Luton Town edged Stevenage 1-0, while Bowers & Pitsea beat Needham Market 3-0.

1 North – Jenna Nairn hit a hat-trick as Whittlesey Athletic overcame Kings Lynn Town 5-3 to make it back-to-back wins. AFC Dunstable defeated Real Bedford Res with a Poppy Whitburn goal, despite a red card for substitute Olivia James. Wootton Blue Cross won 3-0 at Biggleswade United, Thetford Town’s Amber May struck for a 1-0 victory at Mulbarton Wanderers.

1 South – Colney Heath lead the table on goal-difference after a ruthless 17-1 result at Cheshunt where Amy Phillips and Cally Slater contributed a treble each. Hertford Town and Hutton are on their heels, the former edging Wormley Rovers 1-0 and the latter posting a 7-2 success at Frontiers aided by a Lucy Critchell hat-trick. Stanway Pegasus’s Jade Horne got all three goals against Lawford, Chelmsford City were 5-1 winners over Toby FC with Broghan Kelly netting three times.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Herne Bay overcome Welling with strong finish

Premier – Fulham were one of three teams to continue winning starts, the Cottagers putting seven past Millwall Lionesses in front of 121 fans. Sutton United hit home side Haywards Heath Town for six, Saltdean United defeated Dorking Wanderers 2-0. Barking just got the better of Sport London E Benfica 4-3, Newhaven had 100 fans in for the visit of Dartford but went down 8-0.

1 North – Brentford are top on goals scored from Bromley, with Dulwich Hamlet Reserves a third team on six points. The Bees won 4-2 at  Actonians Reserves aided by Ashley Cheatley’s brace, Bromley’s Bethany Hull netted three in a 5-1 result at Richmond & Kew, 150 saw Dulwich Hamlet Reserves’ Natalia Davila score twice for a 2-1 victory over Clapton CFC. There were 4-1 wins for Denham United and Ashmount Leigh over Hackney and AFC Whyteleafe respectively while Leatherhead put six past Richmond Park.

1 South – Saltdean United Devs 2-1 win at Steyning Town has them top by two points from Aylesford, who hit six at Soccer Elite Academy with three from Kara Richardson. Herne Bay trailed Welling United but the hosts scored four times in the last half hour or so for a 4-1 win. One goal decided it as Montpelier Villa’s Lou Tindall found the net at Hastings United.

NORTH WEST – Wigan win ten-goal thriller with Chester

Premier – Wythenshawe and Curzon Ashton extended their winning starts to three games, the leaders 4-0 victors at Mancunian Unity and the latter coming through 2-1 at FC United. Crewe Alexandra won a seven-goal thriller with Fleetwood Town Wrens, Bury beat Tranmere Rovers by the odd goal in five.

1 North – Bolton, Penrith, Radcliffe and Accrington remain in perfect form after three matches, Wanderers and Radcliffe netting nine at Fleetwood Town Wrens Reserves and Hindley respectively. Penrith were 2-0 winners at Atherton Laburnum Rovers, Stanley substitute Ocean Flanagan stung Workington Town twice for a 3-2 result. Preston North End got the sole goal at Haslingden, Blackpool returned from Morecambe as 3-2 victors.

1 South – Poulton Vics lead the way following a 9-0 thrashing of Mossley Hill Athletic,  Wigan Athletic’s 6-4 score against Chester was one of a few closer goalfests. Runcorn Linnets beat Warrington Town 5-3, Wirral Phoenix’s 4-2 win against Litherland REMYCA came with braces by Emma Clausen and Rebecca Tebb. MSB Woolton edged Ellesmere Port Town 3-2 with Claudia Hutton’s 79th-minute decider, FC St. Helens sent Macclesfield FC to a 6-1 defeat.
