Former #Lionesses boss reaches settlement with The FA

England manager Mark Sampson during the FIFA 2019 Women’s World Cup qualifying match at Prenton Park, Birkenhead.

The Football Association and Mark Sampson have agreed a settlement, following the sacking of the former England Women’s Head Coach in 2017.

Sampson, who led the Lionesses to a bronze medal at the 2015 World Cup, had a case for unfair dismissal against the FA scheduled due to be heard this week.

An FA spokesperson told BBC Sport: “We can confirm a confidential settlement has been entered into between the FA and Mark Sampson to bring the dispute around the termination of his employment to an agreed close.”
