FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup: Wins for Brazil, Spain and Germany

Match day three at the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup brought wins for Brazil, Spain and Germany, while Colombia remained unbeaten.

Brazil beat Australia 2-0 with goals by Priscila and Aline to go second in Group A.

Hosts, Costa Rica are out of contention following a 5-0 defeat to Spain, who lead the table on goal-difference with a game to go.

Colombia played out a goalless draw with Mexico but stay top of Group B.

Germany won 3-0 over New Zealand to get off the mark, Clara Fröhlich breaking the deadlock before the hour mark, Sophie Weidauer adding a penalty and Gia Corley a stoppage-time third.

Sunday’s ties see South Korea play Nigeria and France face Canada in Group C, Japan go up against Ghana and USA clash with the Netherlands in Group D.
