Spain, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico made the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup quarter-finals, the latter after defeating Germany.

Inma Gabarro got all three goals as Spain beat Australia to win Group A, goal-difference ahead of Brazil

They themselves progressed with five goals against hosts Costa Rica, Rafa Levis netting the first two in front of a crowd of almost 12,000.

Colombia’s 2-2 tie with New Zealand was enough for them to finish top of Group B, Linda Caicedo bagging a crucial brace.

Mexico ended just a goal behind the group winners, as Alexia Villanueva’s effort around the hour mark knocked out Germany.

Two quarter-final ties are already confirmed for 20 August, when Spain will meet Mexico and Colombia clash with Brazil.
