Aston Villa drew the relegation ‘six-pointer’ at West Ham United to move off the bottom of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Neither goal was really threatened in the first half, although Villa’s Katerina Svitkova fired over the crossbar and Gilly Flaherty went close with a header for the Hammers.
In the second half, Hawa Sissoko headed off the line for the hosts after a set-piece was not cleared, Villa keeper Lisa Weiss turned away a Cecilie Redisch strike for a corner, before making a five save to deny Svitkova.
The goalless draw put West Ham up to ninth place above Birmingham City on goal-difference, while Bristol City slipped back to the foot of the table and have played a game more than the other relegation-threatened sides.
