Everton went top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Aston Villa at Walsall FC.
Three goals in a seven-minute first-half spell effectively sealed the points, after Villa keeper Lisa Weiss had earlier denied both Lucy Graham and Hayley Raso.
Claire Emslie’s cross gave Raso a tap in for the opener on 20 minutes and the Australian quickly added her second after an error by Weiss.
Emslie curled in the third and Valerie Gauvin also struck for a 4-0 interval lead for the visitors.
Raso was replaced at the break by Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and it was her driven delivery from the wing that flew in for the fifth goal.

Emslie was then fed through to round the keeper and double her tally for the day.
The victory was the Toffees third from three in the league, added to their two wins that have seen them book a place in the 2019/20 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final.
