Bethany England hit a first-half hat-trick as Chelsea won 8-0 at relegated Yeovil Town to move up to third place in the FA Women’s Super League table.

The result lifted the Blues back above of Birmingham City by one point and also with a far superior goal-difference, ahead of the final round of games coming up on Saturday lunchtime.

Adelina Engman set up the first two goals, crossing for England to open the scoring on 8 minutes and then finding Erin Cuthbert who drilled home with the hosts briefly down to ten after Amy Goddard suffered a nasty head injury.

Cuthbert turned provider as England netted a diving header, moments later Engman ran through to finish and then England completed her treble in added time.

Cuthbert doubled her tally when one-on-one with Megan Walsh, Fran Kirby then coming off the bench to score two in three minutes.
