Aston Villa stormed to a 4-0 win away to Bristol City in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s basement battle on Wednesday evening.

Shania Hayles and Ramona Petzelberger bagged a brace each, as Villa climbed two places to ninth in the table.

Emma Follis crossed for Petzelberger to open the scoring at the back post three minutes before the break.

Charlie Wellings twice went close to equalising but Elisha N’Dow and Asmita Ale made crucial blocks, before Follis sent Hayles away to double the lead.

Hayles then turned provider for Petzelberger’s second, after which Follis made it three assists in setting up Hayles to also double her tally for the night.
