#FAWNL: Wolves Women back on top

Wolves returned to the top of the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier with a 4-0 midweek victory at Stoke City.

Loughborough Lightning 0-3 Derby County
Sheffield FC 0-6 Huddersfield Town
Stoke City 0-4 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Att: 170)

Anna Morphet scored for Wolves from the penalty spot on 35 minutes, Helen Dermody, Tammi George and Leo Joyce adding one each in the second half.

Derby County went second with a 3-0 win at Loughborough Lightning, with all the goals coming in the first half. Ellie Gilliatt struck twice in two minutes, Megan Tinsley later netting from a free kick.

Huddersfield Town were two up at the break on the way to hitting hosts Sheffield FC for six, as they climbed into fourth spot. There were braces by Brittany Sanderson and Laura Elford, plus singles for Kate Mallin and Ria Montgomery.
