Watford went third in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division on-goal-difference following a 6-0 midweek victory at Hounslow.
The deadlock was only broken a couple of minutes before the interval though, Emma Beckett finding Helen Ward who finished with composure past Gillian Kasirye.
The Hounslow keeper had earlier tipped a 30-yard Beckett strike over the top, while Jennifer Kikomeko hit the crossbar for the Hornets and Hounslow’s Elisaine Castro struck the post.
When Elle Richards hit the bar from long-range, Leanne Bell’s follow-up was superbly saved by Kasirye but the visitors did get a second on 54 minutes, Beckett with the assist for Adekite Fatuga-Dada to slot home.
Katie O’Leary forced two fine successive saves before Andrea Carid netted, the latter then had her effort diverted in by O’Leary.
O’Leary was again involved as Bell smashed the ball home from her rebound off the post and Anne Meiwald later became Watford’s sixth goalscorer of the night.
