Watford went top of the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier and a late comeback saw Plymouth Argyle win to go second.

Sunderland moved three points clear of Burnley at the top of the Northern Premier with a 6-1 success at Sheffield FC, where Charlotte Potts claimed a second-half hat-trick. Hull got off the mark with a 2-1 result over mid-table West Brom, Rachel Ackroyd twice scoring from the spot.

Watford ran out 4-0 winners at Gillingham, Andrea Carid with a brace, to knock Crawley off the top. The Wasps slipped to third with Plymouth taking the points 2-1 at Cardiff as Natasha Knapman won it with almost the last kick.

Wolves lead Division 1 Midlands by five points from Long Eaton after netting as many goals at Solihull, three of them coming from Jamilla Palmer.

Barnsley saw off Liverpool Feds 2-0 to stretch their Division 1 North lead over Brighouse to four points, substitute Amy Woodruff sealing victory with the Tykes’ second goal.

AFC Wimbledon are up to third in Division 1 South East following a 3-1 defeat of Norwich, Liz O’Callaghan twice finding the net for the Dons.

Chesham had to settle for a point at home to second-placed Southampton Women’s in Division 1 South West, the visitors’ Erin Bloomfield scoring twice in the last 10 minutes.

Phoebe Williams got all of Southampton FC’s three goals in the League Cup win at Larkhall, Actonians restricted Crawley to a single-goal victory with a Rachel Palmer strike.

Stevenage pulled off a shock win at Ipswich in the Plate, Erin Pope’s late free-kick knocking out their unbeaten Division 1 South East rivals.
