Loughborough Lightning pegged back Derby County to deny them the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier leadership.

Northern Premier

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Hull City (Att: 92)

Derby County missed a chance to go top when held 1-1 at home by tenth-placed Loughborough Lightning. Ellie Gilliatt got the Rams in front but Abbie Benstead equalised via the crossbar from distance. Nottingham Forest had a narrow 1-0 win over basement side Hull City that lifted them to fourth place. The goal came midway through the second half, Mai Moncaster winning the ball from the outrushing keeper and Charlotte Greengrass tucking it home.

Crawley Wasps 0-2 Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town extended their lead at the top with two unanswered goals at mid-table Crawley Wasps. Abbie Lafayette’s first-minute wind-assisted free kick flew straight in, and her second-half set-piece was netted by Paige Peake’s glancing header.

Wem Town were 2-0 up at half-time but the game was then abandoned due to a medical incident involving the Bedworth United goalkeeper.

Queens Park Rangers 2-0 London Seaward (Att: 47)

QPR beat London Seaward 2-0 in a meeting of fifth and sixth, Demi Edwards bagging a second-half brace. Enfield Town hit basement side Kent Football United for six to get out of the drop zone, as Harlow Town slipped in. Stevenage gained ground on another relegation-threatened team, Norwich City, whom they defeated 2-1 away. Holly Greenwood’s penalty was cancelled out by Freya Symonds but Amy Makewell got the decider.

Poole Town 0-4 Portishead (Att: 41)

Poole Town still await there first win of the season after a 4-0 home loss to Portishead in sixth. Shannon Holloway, Emily Lindsay, Alanna Torrington and Nathalie Zajaczkowski were all on target.
