England played out a goalless Arnold Clark Cup tie with Spain in front of over 14,000 fans at Carrow Road.

There was barely a shot on goal in the first half, Ellen White often frustrated by the flag going up for offside, although Jill Scott was not far away with a shot from the edge of the box.

England survived a mix up between Hannah Hampton and Jess Carter, with one Lucia Garcia effort easily gathered by the debutant keeper.

Half-time substitute Lauren Hemp hit the post after only 33 seconds, Jordan Nobbs got clear but shot wide if the far post.

Spain’s Lucia Garcia put a great chance wide, Athenea del Castillo brought a save out of Hampton.

Hemp played in White but she could not quite get her shot away, Del Castillo later hit the side netting at the other end and in added time saw her strike saved at the second attempt by Hampton.

Attendance: 14,282.
