Leicester City Manager Jonathan Morgan has been awarded The FA Women’s Championship Manager of the Month trophy for December by the LMA Panel.
Morgan’s team won all three matches in December against London Bees, Charlton Athletic and Blackburn Rovers to end the calendar year at the top of The FA Women’s Championship.
Upon receiving his second Manager of the Month trophy of the season Morgan said: “It has been a fantastic start to the new year for the club, firstly with the move into our new Belvoir Drive training ground, followed by Natasha Flint picking up The FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month award. Now to be awarded Manager of the Month caps off a brilliant December and start to the new year.
“It goes without saying that all of these awards are only possible thanks to the players and all the staff associated with the team. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes and these awards are an example of how well everybody is doing. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off in 2021 and remain as competitive as possible.”
Chair of the League Managers Association panel Marieanne Spacey-Cale MBE said of Morgan’s award: “The nine points won took Jonathan’s Leicester City back to the top of the table. It is a really tight title race this season, so winning these games and maintaining momentum going into the winter break will be crucial to continuing their push for promotion.”
