Everton Ladies Sign Chloe Kelly On Loan

England U-19 striker Chloe Kelly has re-joined Everton on a season-long loan from Arsenal, having previously had a short spell with the Toffees last year.

Kelly scored twice in nine appearances during that short-term stay but her loan ended with three games of the season remaining. With Everton chasing promotion from WSL 2, she missed the vital game against Bristol City, in which the Vixens ended the Toffees’ hopes of going up.

That, Kelly admits, has only made her hungrier to help the Blue Girls be successful.

“I am delighted to be back at Everton, back with the girls, back with Andy Spence and I can’t wait to get started,” she told evertonfc.com. “I was away with England and Arsenal manager Pedro Losa called me up and told me Everton were interested in taking me back on loan. I knew I needed to get minutes under my belt so what a place to do that. To be back here is great.

“I had a really good loan spell here last time, but it could have been even better. Leaving with three games left to go back then gives me more motivation to do well here. I have unfinished business at Everton.

“It also gives me a chance to prove myself in WSL 1. Last time, in WSL 2, it was tough fighting for promotion, but now we are back in the top flight and we have a point to prove. We don’t want to be competing in the bottom half of the table – we are looking to be right at the top.”
