England Women U-17s through to European semi-finals

England defeated Sweden 3-1 to reach the UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship semi-finals in Estonia with a game to spare.

Ava Baker had a goal-bound shot blocked after Michelle Agyemang got through on lobbed the the keeper but England still took an early lead, Agyemang with a tap-in from Sophie Harwood’s cross.

Sophia Poor tipped an effort onto the far post but from a Smilla Holmberg cross a deflection off Katie Reid levelled the scores.

Agyemang was sent clear to dink the ball over the keeper and into the net just four minutes after the interval.

Milly Round had the ball in the net but it has gone out of play before Baker knocked it back.

Moments after Nova Rolfsson was denied by Poor, a strong run by Ria Bose led to Baker curling a shot inside the far post.

In added time, Julia Cavander tipped an Isabella Fisher strike over the bar.

England play a group decider against France on Saturday 20 May (11am BST), live on BBC Red Button One and UEFA.tv.
