England Women U-17s beat Greece to make it two wins from two

England followed up their 3-0 win over UEFA Women’s U-17 EURO qualifying group hosts Serbia with a 2-0 defeat of Greece.

The Young Lionesses dominated the first half, with both Vera Jones and Laila Harbert forcing the goalkeeper into saves before the deadlock was broken.

The opening goal came midway through the first half, when Lola Brown’s corner which was nodded in by Denny Draper.

Erica Parkinson beat the goalkeeper but her effort was then cleared off the line, Harbert was later denied when through on goal by Eirini Manoukaraki, who also thwarted Isabella Fisher from the resulting corner.

Fisher did double the lead when turning in Harbert’s cross, as the Young Lionesses made it two wins from two ahead of a group decider against Italy on Saturday at 12pm GMT.
