England started their UEFA Women’s U-17 EURO Finals group games in Estonia with a 2-1 win against Poland despite a red card.

Lola Brown played in Michelle Agyemang to fire high into the net with just four minutes played.

Midway through the half, Ava Baker’s ball into the area lead to a defensive mix-up that gifted Agyemang a tap in.

A setback saw Mari Ward sent off but Sophia Poor saved the resulting spot kick as well as the follow up.

Ten-player England did prevent a Polish fightback, with Wiktoria Kuprowska’s goal on the half-volley only coming in added time at the end of the second half.

England next play Sweden on Wednesday 17 May (5pm BST), then France on Saturday 20 May (11am BST), live on BBC Red Button One and UEFA.tv.
