England and Scotland win in Women’s U-19 EURO Qualifiers

There were wins for England and Scotland in the UEFA Women’s U-19 European Championship qualifiers earlier this week.

England beat Wales 3-0 in a League A Group 3 tie at St George’s Park. Mia Ross, Deearna Goodwin and Lucy Watson on target for the Young Lionesses. England meet Iceland on Saturday 2.30 pm at SGP, followed by Wales against Belgium in the evening game.

Scotland beat Kazakhstan 3-0 in the League B Group 4 game in Edinburgh, Leila Lister, Bayley Hutchsion and substitute Eilidh Adams the scorers. Pauline Hamill’s side next play Estonia on Friday, 2pm at Ainslie Park Stadium.

Northern Ireland were held 1-1 by Malta in a League B Group 1 fixture, Cora Chambers opener cancelled out in the second half by Maya Lucia. The Faroe Islands are their next opponents on Saturday evening at Inver Park in Larne.

Emma Docherty was at the double as Republic of Ireland defeated group hosts Czech Republic 2-0, with France up next for them on Saturday afternoon in Ostrava.
