Eilish McSorley previously spent 6 years with Glasgow City before departing in 2015 for Swedish side Mallbackens IF on a professional contract.
City say that after one season with the Scandinavian side, McSorley unfortunately suffered an ankle injury which has kept her out of the game since.
Commenting on signing for City, the 24 year old Scottish international told glasgowcityfc.co.uk, “I am excited to have returned to Glasgow City, especially after such a long time out of the game. I cannot thank the club enough for taking me on and helping me to rebuild my career. Hopefully I can return the favour by helping the team land even more winners trophies and be successful in the Champions League this season. I cannot wait to get started.”
Glasgow City Head Coach, Scott Booth said, We are delighted to bring Eilish to the club. She trained with us a number of times before signing and despite not being fully fit yet, she has still been able to show her quality. We are always looking to bring top players to Glasgow City and Eilish is exactly that. Hopefully she will regain full match fitness over the coming weeks and help us in our attempts to have a successful campaign.”
Eilish joins the squad for the visit of third in the table Spartans this Sunday as City play their first match back home at Petershill Park.
