Glasgow City sign Icelandic international defender on loan

Glasgow City loan signng Arna Sif Ágrimsdóttir

Glasgow City have signed the captain of Thor/KA, Arna Sif Ágrimsdóttir, on loan for the rest of the league season.

The 28 year old comes with great experience, having made her international debut in 2014, as well as playing for club sides Valur Reykjavik and Thor/KA in Iceland, Gothenburg in Sweden and Verona in Italy.

Commenting on her loan to Glasgow City, Ásgrimsdóttir said: “ I am thrilled to have signed for Scotland’s number 1 club and thankful for the opportunity. I can’t wait to meet the girls, coaches and everyone around the club and looking forward to hopefully helping the team going even further.”

On securing his defensive target, City Head Coach, Scott Booth said: “Arna is a player I’m really looking forward to seeing at City. She is a top class defender who brings fantastic experience to our back line. She is a leader and her ability in the air will be welcomed in defence as well as in the opposition box.”
