Newly-elected to the top flight following Notts County’s demise, Everton make their WSL 1 return against local rivals Liverpool at their shared home in Widnes. The game is live on BT Sport, with commentary on 5 live Sports Extra.
Spring Series champions Chelsea start life at their new Kingsmeadow Stadium ground with the visit of Bristol City for a lunchtime kick off, with the Vixens’ newcomers including a trio of Belgiam internationals.
First up for Yeovil Town is a massive home game against 2016 winners Manchester City at Huish Park. While the Glovers now field plenty of Welsh internationals, City’s main newcomer is Pauline Bremer from Lyon.
Arsenal entertain Birmingham City, with the Gunners having made some impressive additions with the likes of Lisa Evans, Josephine Henning and EURO2017 winner Vivianne Mediema, while the Blues made a late signing in Hayley Ladd.
Reading take on Sunderland with the benefit of the experience of Fara Williams, the Black Cats having Rachel Laws back between the sticks.
WSL 2 debutants Tottenham begin with a long trek to Durham for the division’s opening fixture at noon, with Spurs being strengthened with the likes of Sarah Wiltshire and Coral Haines, who have both played in WSL 1,
Aston Villa entertain Hope Powell’s Brighton at their new Tamworth FC base, with the Villains including Sian Rogers from Arsenal, while Albion have bolstered their squad with such players as Danielle Buet, and ex-Everton duo Fern Whelan and Aileen Whelan.
London Bees play Doncaster Rovers Belles, runners-up in the WSL 2 Spring Series table, whose main signing is the experienced Sophie Bradley
Millwall welcome Watford to their Rotherhithe home, the Lionesses having brought in a couple of ex-Gunners in Rianna Dean and Charlotte Devlin, the Hornets loaning Chelsea keeper Fran Kitching and bringing in Bianca Bragg and Helen Ward.
Oxford’s game against Sheffield FC is at their new venue of Court Place Farm, where Corinne Yorston is on a season-long loan, while the visitors main acquisition is keeper Danielle Gibbons.
