Belgian international Yana Daniels and former Young Lioness Jasmine Matthews have both returned to Bristol City after a season away at Liverpool.

Daniels (27), who has made 32 appearances for Belgium, told bcfc.co.uk:“It was a big decision to come back, but you tell the club has made big steps through the results on the pitch as well as becoming closer with the men’s team which is a great for the club and women’s football.“

Vixens Manager, Tanya Oxtoby, said: “We have been working very hard over the last 6 months looking at our attacking recruitment options, and with Yana’s proven talent and ability at this level, along with her understanding of what Bristol is all about, it was a no-brainer to welcome her back to the club.”

Matthews, a former City captain, commented: “I was here for nine years before I left last summer, so I feel privileged to be back here and I can’t wait to get going. Obviously it’s like home to me and the way the club performed last year really made me look into coming back.”

Oxtoby added: “To have Jas back at the club where she learned her trade, after a short stint away, is testimony that what we are building here is heading the right direction, and I’m sure she’s going to huge impact for us this season.”
