Bristol City Women sign defender from local rivals

Bristol City have signed left-back Gemma Evans from Women’s Super League opponents, Yeovil Town.

The Vixens say that Evans comes into the squad with international pedigree, having played for Wales at the the UEFA European Championships and in the current qualifying stages for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Vixens manager Tanya Oxtoby said: “Gemma is a player with a lot of potential who we felt would add a lot to our squad, and we are really excited to welcome her into the club and watch her develop and reach her potential with us.”

Gemma Evans said: “I’m really excited to have signed for such an ambitious club.

“I’m looking forward to working with Tanya and tackling the challenges ahead.

“I can’t wait for the season to get started now.”
