Derby County have signed midfielder Sherry McCue, who made 14 appearances for Leicester City Women in the FAWC last season.
Speaking to DCLFC Media, McCue said: “It was great to play in the FA Women’s Championship last season and I’m excited to get there again and that’s why I joined the club as I believe they have the potential to get there this season and I’m confident I can help to play my part.”
Rams boss Sam Griffiths said: “We’ve been looking for that holding midfielder role ever since Emily Joyce went down with an ACL injury in our final game of the season.
“To get Sherry in with her experience of playing in the Championship and her experience at the England age groups is a big coup for us and I’m excited to see her in a Derby County Ladies shirt. I like her style, her calmness on the ball and the ability to dictate play.”
