Linfield maintained a four-point lead at the top of the NIFL Danske Bank Women’s Premiership with a 5-0 defeat of fourth-placed Cliftonville, while a POTM award is introduced and Electric Ireland Cup 2nd Round draw is made.

All Linfield’s goals came in the first half, the first of two by Kirsty McGuinness coming from the spot just 3 minutes in. Naomi Donnan, Casey Howe and Caitlin McGuinness were the other scorers.

Glentoran held second place on goal-difference with a 5-0 result against Crusaders Strikers, despite Sion Swifts storming to a double-figure victory at newcomers Comber Rec.

Demi Vance bagged a brace inside the first half-hour for the Glens with Rachel Rogan on target in-between. Rogan also completed a double and Yasmin White rounded off the scoring.

Lauren Brennan’s fifth-minute effort was the first of her five-goal haul at Comber, including three in a five-minute spell before the break. There was also a couple each from Chloe McGlade and Kelly Crompton, with Tyler Toland the other to find the net.

Meanwhile, the draw for round two of the 2019 Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup includes defending champions Glentoran facing a trip to PSNI Ladies, while last year’s beaten finalists Linfield are also on the road – away to Downpatrick on 3rd June.
