Durham pulled off a FA Women’s Continental League Cup win at Everton, London City Lionesses beat Birmingham City.

GROUP A – Everton 0-1 Durham

GROUP B – Leicester City P-P Manchester City

GROUP C – Brighton & Hove Albion P-P West Ham United
Birmingham City 1-2 London City Lionesses

Durham took a 25th-minute lead at Marine FC, when Beth Hepple played in Lily Crosthwaite to finish. Everton almost levelled before the break but Aggie Beever-Jones hit the post from 20 yards.

Durham’s Maria Farrugia fired from further out as Courtney Brosnan tipped it over, the keeper later dealing with a Rio Hardy strike.

Izzy Christiansen might have equalised for the hosts in stoppage-time but Saorise Noonan kept her out.

The result sent Championship side Durham second, two points ahead of Manchester United.

London City Lionesses came from behind to leave St Andrews victorious thanks to a Sarah Ewens brace.

Birmingham City made the breakthrough just before half-time, when Lucy Quinn’s header went in off a defender.

Ewens levelled via the left post and although a double save from the hosts’ Lucy Thomas denied Lily Agg, Ewens got a 89th-minute decider.
