Northern Ireland international Chloe McCarron (22) has joined Birmingham City Women from NIFL Premiership champions Linfield.

McCarron, a holding or central midfielder,  has been capped by her country seven times at senior level and has played in three editions of the Champions League.

Blues Women’s Head Coach Carla Ward told bcfc.com: “We’re delighted to get Chloe over the line. She’s an exciting young talent who’s ready to prove herself on the biggest stage.

“We’ve seen her go toe to toe with the likes of Norway internationally and showed she’s more than ready to step into the WSL.”

Also supportive of the move was McCarron’s Northern Ireland Manager Kenny Shiels who feels it is a great opportunity for both the player and her new club: “Chloe is one of the smartest players in women’s football,” he said.

“Since I have been in this position, I have seen remarkable progress from Chloe and Birmingham have hit the jackpot by getting her on board.”
